Service Description

When matting becomes tight, widespread or close to the skin, attempting to brush it out can be painful and unsafe. In these situations, a short comfort clip may be the kindest and safest grooming option. Every dog is assessed at check-in. We will explain the coat condition, recommend the safest approach and confirm the service and price with you before beginning. A complete shave-down will never be performed without first discussing it with you. Service includes: • Coat and skin assessment at check-in • Careful pre-clipping before the bath when necessary • Professional shampoo bath • Blow-dry and coat finishing • Nail trimming • Ear cleaning • Paw-pad and sanitary care • Gentle finishing appropriate to the remaining coat This service is priced similarly to a Full Groom because it includes the complete grooming process and requires additional time, patience and care when working close to the skin. The main difference is the expected finished style. When severe matting limits the safe coat length, comfort and skin safety must come before a preferred haircut. The final appearance will depend on the condition of the coat, and more styling options will become available as healthy coat grows back. Tight matting can sometimes conceal redness, irritation or skin concerns. If anything is discovered during the groom, we will let you know at pickup and recommend veterinary attention when appropriate.
