Comfort Groom – Senior, Special-Care & Matted Dogs

Service Description

For senior dogs, dogs with limited mobility or special handling needs, and dogs with tight or widespread matting where comfort must come before styling. This is a complete grooming service performed with extra time, patience and attention to the dog’s comfort and physical limitations. If matting is tight, widespread or close to the skin, brushing it out may be painful. In those cases, a shorter clip may be the safest and most comfortable option. Service includes, as appropriate: Coat and skin check at arrival Careful clipping before the bath when needed Shampoo bath Gentle drying Haircut or comfort clip Nail trim Ear cleaning Paw-pad and sanitary care Light finishing based on the coat that can safely remain Comfort comes before appearance. We will not force an elderly, physically limited or uncomfortable dog through unnecessary handling simply to achieve a particular style. Every dog is assessed at check-in. If a short clip or shave-down is recommended because of severe matting, we will explain it and confirm the plan with you before we begin. This service is priced similarly to a Full Groom because it includes the complete grooming process and may require additional time and careful handling. Severe matting can sometimes hide skin irritation or other problems. If we notice something concerning during grooming, we will let you know so you can follow up with your veterinarian if needed. Final price is based on the actual grooming time required. Dogs requiring additional time because of coat condition, matting, heavy shedding, size, behaviour or additional grooming needs may cost more than the starting price. If significant additional work is required, we will discuss it with you before proceeding.
